SIMPLE TUNING

OBJECTIVE

Your ear listens and tunes into the frequency of the note while your voice matches it and you see and feel the notes on the keyboard. This conditions the subconsciousand muscles to sing the correct pitches.
This is for people who are just starting and know how to form the chord of the scale but don’t know the full fingering of the whole scale. Also good for a quick tuning.

HOW

Start with your lowest note you can sing. With the 5 fingers of your right hand play the first 5 notes of the scale – notes 1 2 3 4 5 4 3 2 1. Then play the chord of that scale. Then move up a semi tone and play the chord of that scale, then repeat ..the same note run. Do this to the highest note you can sing. Do it all the vowel sounds … A E I O and OO.

Double Whole Notes

This tuning is ideal at practicing long sustained notes. Hold a vowel note for two whole measure counts then do the same on the next vowel before taking a breath.
